A Zakum Development Company operated gas plant in Abu Dhabi was faced with switching from a hydrogen-sulphide-free gas to one with a high hydrogen-sulphide content. The company initially expected that major replacement work, if not rebuilding, on the plant would be required.

Intetech reviewed the construction materials and the key equipment items. We showed that, although there would be a rise in inspection costs, no catastrophic failures were likely and the planned change-out of very specific equipment would be adequate. The company did not have to perform the anticipated multimillion-dollar rebuild.
