We have worked with several nuclear organisations on projects, some highly confidential, focusing on the selection of materials for long-term storage schemes and secondary and tertiary process systems.

For example, we joined a team of international experts to write a white paper for the Belgian government on materials for a planned long-term nuclear waste repository. Our knowledge of the type of corrosion occurring in soil and ground water proved vital in this case. As the required service life of this kind of facility is 10,000 years, published information on the survival of archaeological artefacts influenced our material selection.
